What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a respiratory virus that was first identified in Wuhan Province, China in late 2019. Since that time, it has spread throughout the world and is now categorized as a "pandemic" by the World Health Organization (WHO).

At this time, the number of cases in Antigua and Barbuda are declining and the American University of Antigua is working to continue educational services while protecting students and employees.

Because COVID-19 is a new virus, scientists and health professionals are still building their understanding of how the virus works and are attempting to make predictions about infection rates using statistical models.
